1- DTU (Unified Technical Document) standards
Only one DTU standard for load-bearing masonry elements details the conditions for green roofing (DTU 43.1); DTU standards for other types of roof (TAN, wood) make no provision for green roofing.
2- Avis Technique
Le Prieuré holds an AVIS TECHNIQUE for its green roofing solutions and HYDROPACK® for slopes up to 35%.
3- Cahier des charges particulières (CCP) or Cahier des Techniques de Prescription de Pose (CTPP)
Roofing solutions with slopes ranging from 20 to 200% have been validated by an inspection office and are covered by a CPP.
4- Professional rules for roof-terrace-garden design
The Règles Professionnelles pour la conception et la réalisation des terrasses et toitures végétalisées (professional rules for the design and construction of green roofs and terraces) drawn up by ADIVET, CSFE, SNPPA and UNEP, provide guidelines for the greening of terraces and roofs with a slope of 20% or less.
5- Ten-year waterproofing warranty
6- Standards for accessibility, safety and personal movement
Depending on whether the terrace is accessible or not, the standards differ in the following areas: roof accessibility, fall protection, circulation and access to waterproofing upstands, and rainwater drainage.
7- Local Town Planning
As an integral part of the building, roof greening must comply with current urban planning regulations defined by the PLU. In fact, some PLUs specifically encourage roof greening to limit rainwater runoff and promote biodiversity.
