Innovating production methods :

A visionary family history

Innovation was an early part of the Priory’s history. In 1890, Henri Lory, representative of the 3rd generation, designed the wind plough: a revolutionary plough powered by a wind turbine and a cable system. Henri Lory patented the invention, but the variability of the wind slowed its development.

A century later, in 2007, wind turbines were installed on the same site, in a nod to this pioneering genius.

The spirit of innovation endures:

Gabriel Lamé, his son-in-law, and Maurice, his grandson, in turn invented agricultural machinery, such as a seed sorting system and irrigation equipment.

The arrival of horticulture opened a new chapter

To support the development of pre-cultivated mats and trays, Le Prieuré designs highly innovative special machines. Automation and robotization enable us to provide our customers with the best possible service (thanks in particular to a high degree of flexibility), ensure controlled quality and costs, and limit the drudgery of work for our employees.

Product innovation:

Serving the building industry

The company develops products and services designed to facilitate the implementation of vegetation solutions:

Pre-cultivated perennial mats (1997)

Ready-to-install, they eliminate the need for planting on the roof.

Pre-cultivated tanks with water reserve (2005)

An all-in-one solution (drainage, filter, substrate, vegetation) that greatly simplifies installation.

Wild plants

Le Prieuré is the 1st company to obtain the “Végétal Local” label (2025) for the production of herbaceous plants and sedums for roof greening.
