LE PRIEURE has been a producer since its origins in 1840. The story began with the production of cereals on farmland in the Loir et Cher region, and the company evolved towards crop diversification, notably turning to horticulture in the 1980s, then to the production of grass mats and sedums for green roofs in 1995.
In the 2000s, LE PRIEURE invented the pre-cultivated planter for roof greening. A pioneer in this field, LE PRIEURE has contributed to the development of the profession of specialized green building producer, a profession that did not exist until then.

France’s leading producer since 1995 – LE PRIEURE has one of Europe’s largest sedum carpet nurseries, with constantly improving know-how.
Sown, cultivated for at least 6 months and harvested in our own fields, our carpets are renowned for their quality and durability.
Vegetable cover can be varied according to demand, under cultivation contract for specific requests.
Our sedum and perennial mats are available all year round. They are picked directly from the nursery before being palletized and shipped.
It is important to install them as soon as possible to preserve the plant cover.

The flagship product in LE PRIEURE’s range of solutions, the Hydropack tub is available all year round, in all its variations.
Invented and developed by LE PRIEURE in the early 2000s, our tub has evolved to meet market needs. The range has been extended to include the Hydropack Neo and Hydropack Neo Light, economical and lighter versions of the Hydropack.
While the Neo version is available exclusively in sedums, the Hydropack is available in 5 different types of cutlery: mixflore, midi, undergrowth, marine and mountain.
Growing the planters in our nursery guarantees planters with a minimum coverage of 60% at the time of installation.

Production and sale of substrates for urban greening
LE PRIEURE is one of the pioneers in the production of substrate for green roofs, which began in the 90s through partnerships with German universities.
Our substrates are produced on our storage and distribution platform from raw and recycled materials sourced in France.
Rooftop green roofing requires good control of the structural and mechanical characteristics of substrates: weight, water retention capacity, agronomic qualities, etc. All these parameters are measured and verified by our laboratory.
The LE PRIEURE range of substrates offers formulas that comply with professional green roof regulations and are adapted to each project, ranging from 1200 to 1600 Kg/m3 CME (the weight of substrates is calculated when saturated with water, and is referred to as CME weight, as opposed to dry weight).

Production and sale of native plants (seeds and microchips)
Since 2020, LE PRIEURE has been dedicated to the production of seeds and micro-pods of plants native to the Paris basin.
Preserving biodiversity is a cause close to the Priory’s heart. The seeds for our native plant production are harvested by hand from wild plots (uncultivated for at least 30 years), multiplied and grown in our nursery using a controlled process.
A wide variety of plants produced at our LE PRIEURE nursery have the VEGETAL LOCAL label (list available HERE).
