A 310-hectare cereal farm, Le Prieuré has diversified into horticulture over the past 30 years, developing the green roof market and becoming one of France’s leading growers. The 35-hectare nursery includes pre-cultivated mats and tubs, as well as perennials. The company has deployed many innovative production methods to meet the demands of this highly specialized crop, and production is highly mechanized and automated. Le Prieuré also manufactures its own substrates on site. The nursery employs 8 salaried staff and 10 seasonal workers.
These two activities share the same facilities (sheds, changing rooms) and some of the same equipment (tractors, tools).
The company also has a substrate production site on the outskirts of Lyon and a nursery in Spain.
