Managing rain to cool cities
Rooftop vegetation systems act like sponges, capturing a large proportion of precipitation. This rainfall runs off a few hours after the event, or is evapotranspired. Rainfall peaks are thus deferred or absorbed. In addition, evapotranspiration from green roofs helps to cool the city and combat heat islands. Finally, optimized storage and capillary rise of rainwater captured by vegetation systems provides plants with a greater volume of water (limiting the consumption of city water for irrigation), and promotes biodiversity.
One expertise, two solutions
In collaboration with the DEEP laboratory at INSA Lyon, Le Prieuré has developed two types of solution, the dimensioning of which is based on theusing GEPETO software (water cycle modeling and solution sizing software), accompanied by a hydraulic calculation note produced by our in-house engineering department.
LE PRIEURE has developed two solutions: the ALVEO solution and the OASIS system.
OASIS
OASIS is a patented solution, developed specifically by LE PRIEURE, for managing rainwater on roofs, storing it, and slowly draining it through micro-leakage and evapotranspiration, while allowing a multiplicity of layouts. The best solution for optimized management and compliance with local requirements.
ALVEO:
abatement, buffering and control of leakage rates

OASIS is LE PRIEURE’s patented solution for optimizing water resources and landscaping your roof gardens.
The Hydrostock tanks are connected to each other to form a uniform water reservoir on the roof. The water stored in the tanks (52 L/m²) rises by capillary action to the substrate, or evaporates.
A flow limiter is located in each tank zone (approximately every 80 tanks) to allow water that has not been evapotranspired or consumed by the plants to be drained off, at a micro-flow rate of up to 0.5 L/s/ha.
The Modulo multimodal plate can accommodate any type of layout: vegetated areas, trees, battens and separating elements, cladding, up to 2 tons/m² without deformation.

OASIS GREEN
OASIS GREEN was born out of the need to combine rainwater management and the development of accessible roof terraces, while planting different plant strata to enable more ambitious landscaping projects and encourage biodiversity.
The Modulo plate can be attached to the Hydrostock tray (replacing the Hydropack tray), increasing substrate thickness up to 1m in height. The holes in the plate allow water to pass through and tree anchoring plates to be fitted.
OASIS WALK
OASIS Walk complements planted landscaping, allowing other types of surfacing to be installed without impacting on rainwater management performance.
Flooring can be laid on blocks or on blocks and joists for decking.
If gravel is used, a geotextile is added between the Modulo plate and the gravel.

Is a green roof suitable for all climates and orientations?
Not all climates are conducive to green roofs. Wind, cold, exposure, orientation and frost are all variables to be analyzed when designing a green roof.
Just like in a garden, plants must be selected for their ability to adapt and thrive where they are planted. With this in mind, our pre-cultivated solutions offer a wide range of plant cover options. For creative roofs, our design office will select the plant palette best suited to your project.
Pre-cultivated mats offer the advantage of having spent several months in culture at our nursery. The plants that have grown there have developed their root system, guaranteeing good establishment. Pre-cultivated solutions are therefore ready for direct installation on roofs, without any intervention on your part.
In general, green roofs are designed to be maintenance-free. Our trained teams will offer you the corresponding maintenance services.
